Yes that is right, an extra day this month! This day only comes every 4 years, less the years divisible by 100 (Read more on Wikipedia)… So celebrate the Leap Year and give your employees and consultants a small bonus! They are the ones who help keep your business running, and without them where would you be?

Anyway, that is just me being sleep deprived… My client, Global Creditors Network, recently signed on a sub-tenant so being the stellar IT Consultant I am; I welcomed the company’s IT Consultant “with open arms” so-to-speak. I am helping the company settle in and assisting with their infrastructure setup. It has been pretty stressful and tiring for me, so I bet their consultant is about 100 times worse than how I feel.

So that has pretty much been my week this week, once this is over I will be back on track. Many things are about ready to rock-and-roll, so I am starting to get excited! I will have more updates soon!

I had been searching for and researching MSP software for the past few months. I have been trying to find the right fit for the needs of my business DotResolve Consulting and during my searching and researching I found a company called N-able. They offer great MSP solutions at seemingly affordable rates, so I have signed my business up for the free 30-day trial of the Momentum System. This consists of: N-central OnDemand, Remote Support Manager, and MSP Operations, Marketing and Sales Best Practices. You can get more detail of the Momentum System at the N-able website.

You can check out a video demo of their software, or contact their sales department to get signed up for the free 30-day trial. You will, however, have to watch a 45 minute webinar before you are able to sign up for the trial.

I will be testing out the software as soon as they approve my account, and I will post in more detail about what I think about the N-able: Momentum System solution.

Most of my clients that I have dealt with so far need to adhere to strict information security enforcement in order to protect consumers from identity theft and my clients themselves from data theft, loss of business, lawsuits etc. One major part of these security checkpoints is eliminating all possible threats of data theft on hard-drives that have been decommissioned from use.

In order to comply with industry standards, a great tool to start out with is Enterprise Boot and Nuke (”EBAN”). From The Official Website: EBAN 2.0 is the enterprise version of DBAN (Consumer Grade) and it’s built on the same proven core. However, EBAN 2.0 for Mass Drive Wiping (formerly called EBAN 2.0 for Data Destruction Appliances) has two very important additions— serialized reporting and network booting for simultaneous multi-drive wiping.

This tool covers compliance issues from a data protection and privacy laws that are currently enforced in the US. You are able to get a 14-day free trial to test out the software.
