If you are anything like me, then the following definitely applies at multiple points during your career. This last week, I was overwhelmed with monitoring the technology department during a new tenant move-in for one of my clients. By the middle of the week, my productivity ceased to exist as my brain went on a total shutdown. I was unable to focus on work that was in need and or work that I wanted to complete to stay on track with my goals for this year.
Over the weekend, I took some time and tried to relax, maybe some sort mental meditation if you will… This helped me to realign my goals and get back on the ball, so now I no longer waste 3 hours staring into space, essentially wasting time. I am glad this all happened when it did though; I just picked up more recurring web design work and I need to be more organized to keep clients happy. I am looking forward to the upcoming weeks and months as more work means my goals are closer in reach. It would be awesome to surpass them, I am always hoping for the best, but I have to take it one-step at a time.
On a side-note, I would love to hear your stories of overcoming obstacles, that in the end better yourself personally and professionally. Post it on your blog and let me know by leaving a comment on this post. That would be great fun!
