For my business DotResolve Consulting we decided to go with a open source contact manager; SugarCRM: Commercial Open Source. I had started developing my own version which offered about 1% of what SugarCRM can currently do. We felt that the maturity of the SugarCRM software development and the large community input (for module, features, etc.) was a strong reason to pursue installing the software.
SugarCRM: Commercial Open Source is a great starting point for any small and new business with small budgets. Since the product itself is free, it can be installed by a professional and extra fields can configured by a manager, thus saving your company money. Once your company grows into a medium to large business, SugarCRM Inc. offers a Professional and Enterprise Edition of the free open source alternative.
Check out the live demo that SugarCRM, Inc. has on their website. If you decide that you want to get your SugarCRM solution installed and hosted contact me and we can discuss hosting it and installation.

Most of my clients that I have dealt with so far need to adhere to strict information security enforcement in order to protect consumers from identity theft and my clients themselves from data theft, loss of business, lawsuits etc. One major part of these security checkpoints is eliminating all possible threats of data theft on hard-drives that have been decommissioned from use.
In order to comply with industry standards, a great tool to start out with is Enterprise Boot and Nuke (”EBAN”). From The Official Website: EBAN 2.0 is the enterprise version of DBAN (Consumer Grade) and it’s built on the same proven core. However, EBAN 2.0 for Mass Drive Wiping (formerly called EBAN 2.0 for Data Destruction Appliances) has two very important additions— serialized reporting and network booting for simultaneous multi-drive wiping.
This tool covers compliance issues from a data protection and privacy laws that are currently enforced in the US. You are able to get a 14-day free trial to test out the software.

So I happened to stumble upon another opportunity to make some extra money on the internet. It is a program called “Take the Internet Back” and it is really simple.
How Take the Internet Back works is there are the advertisers who draft up emails which have the funny verbiage about making easy money, and when you, “the client”, read this email, there is a link at the bottom which you click to agree that you read it. At this point you are credited 1 point to your account. Now how this makes you money is… The advertiser pays a certain amount of money to buy a bulk set of opt-in email blasts, though they do not actually get your email address, it all runs through Take the Internet Back’s server. When you read the email and get the point, every-so-often the nice people at Take the Internet Back distribute money into your account based on the number of points you have in your possession.
I encourage you to try it out, make a free email account with GMail, and have at it. The maximum emails are set to 10 per day and it is really not intrusive, plus they will give you USD$10 free just for signing up. I have already made $75, so do not waste your time and sign up now.

Obviously the past couple months have been one hell of a ride for me… But after this week has come and gone, things are starting to look up. I have a couple new business ventures lined up; and if any one of them materializes it would help me reach my short term, and preferably long term goals that I had set at the beginning of this year.
Two of the potential business ventures are directly related to my business DotResolve Consulting. One is actually a new account that could potentially surpass my goal of making mid to high $X,XXX income per month (Just for DotResolve Consulting). The other is a joint venture between me and another which may prove to make even more than that. Once all the details are finished and contracts are signed I will release an official press release statement.
I am truly excited about everything that is going on right now, and I will put in 110% of my effort to make these things happen. Although all these potential great things are around the corner, it is about time for a weekend. I am going to relax this weekend, meditate and hopefully I will come out a more positive businessman.
